PPC vs SEO Conversions, Matt Cutts, and Extreme Home Makeover

Admittedly this should be three separate posts, but I haven’t posted in a while and the news is piling up, so I’m going to cram them into one!

There’s a lot of debate going on right now about conversion rates for PPC (paid search advertising) versus SEO (organic ranking).  We provide both to our clients, but the mix is always an ongoing discussion in our team.  You can pick up on some of the articles here.  The result of the debate is typically, “you should do both,” but the statistics and the discussion are still quite interesting.

Anyone in the search world should definitely read John Battelle’s interview with Google’s Matt Cutts.  There’s some great first-hand commentary there about Google’s battle with webspam.
