Awecomm is honored to help the United Way for Southeast Michigan provide information and support to Katrina evacuees.
As evacuees from the hurricane stricken Gulf Coast begin to arrive in the Detroit area, Awecomm Technologies is honored to be able to assist the United Way for Southeast Michigan in their efforts to organize the local relief efforts.
During a meeting with local government and service provider organizations, a need was determined for a web site that could organize information about Service Providers in the area, and make it available to evacuees. The United Way for Southeast Michigan approached Awecomm for assistance with the project, and our team gladly accepted the challenge. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to do whatever we can to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Once complete this system will deliver needed information to volunteers, persons looking to donate shelter, money or goods, and services providers. Most importantly the system will provide evacuees with invaluable information on how to find loved ones, were to get help, and general information about the Greater Detroit area. The system will also give 501(3)c organizations the ability to register online and provide assistance to anyone in need.
